Pastor Tobi Adegboyega: A Global Force for Philanthropy and Social Mobility
For nearly two decades, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega has been a transformative force in philanthropy, redefining social mobility and economic empowerment for tens of thousands across the UK and beyond.
Through a visionary approach that merges mentorship, education, and enterprise, he has created sustainable pathways for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds to access higher education, career development, and entrepreneurial success.
The Economic Development Centres (EDCs), spearheaded by Pastor Tobi, have provided financial empowerment and business training to thousands of individuals worldwide. These EDCs offer an alternative to crime and poverty and have also earned recognition from key institutions, including the Mayor of London’s office. His efforts have directly contributed to crime reduction by equipping young people with viable career and business opportunities.
Pastor Tobi’s commitment to education has transformed lives at the highest levels. Through various initiatives, he has contributed hundreds of thousands of pounds towards tuition fees and essential resources, including laptops and MacBooks, for students from low-income backgrounds who have secured places at prestigious Russell Group universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Imperial College London as well as Harvard University.
In 2025, Pastor Tobi sponsored young scientists to attend MIT in Boston, ensuring financial barriers do not hinder the next generation of leaders and innovators. His global education efforts extend to PhD students in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Civil Engineering, and Biomolecular Engineering at Oxford and Imperial College London.
In addition, his ‘Back-to-School Laptop Fund’ has sponsored hundreds of families with essential school supplies – providing laptops and uniform vouchers to ensure that no child is left behind when it comes to education.
This commitment was further demonstrated by Pastor Tobi's sponsorship of an aspiring pilot in Nigeria who dropped out of his training programme due to financial difficulty; he received $10,000 of funding which enabled him to obtain a commercial pilot license and fulfil a lifelong dream.
Over the last five years, he has worked simultaneously with the City Welfare Initiative, which has delivered Christmas hampers to 500 families annually, providing full meals for an entire week to households in need.
Pastor Tobi's dedication to community-driven impact is further reflected in job creation platforms such as Zuriel Recruitment Agency, a multi-million-pound enterprise that has equipped over 2,000 young people with employment opportunities in the UK and abroad. Not only that, various industry initiatives such as The Guild, a global network supporting over 3,000 healthcare professionals and Nxtion Sports Association - an initiative targeted at funding for grassroots sports clubs, with tens of thousands of pounds given to small clubs.
Beyond financial support, Pastor Tobi’s initiatives foster long-term economic empowerment. Many individuals who receive funding to start businesses are matched with industry mentors who have over a decade of experience, ensuring they receive expert guidance and strategic support. Others gain access to new work environments, securing promising careers within an exclusive network of professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.
Philanthropist and founder of Nxtion Family (SPAC Nation), Pastor Tobi Adegboyega has donated another £100,000 and this time it's to thriving Russell Group students-to-be from low socio-economic backgrounds.
In August 2020, Pastor Tobi distributed over £100,000 worth of MacBooks to students who had just received their A-level results – confirming their places at a number of Russell Group universities among which included Cambridge, Warwick and UCL. These students were initially unable to purchase the necessary equipment required for their studies, however, the funding received from Pastor Tobi enabled them to do so. Up to 30 laptops a day were delivered, as well as additional vouchers for those returning to school.
Other beneficiaries of the giveaway include a range of people, including families living in shared accommodation or hotels and women that were living in sheltered accommodation after fleeing abusive homes.
The recipients, none of which are attendees of his church, expressed their gratitude in a number of ways across social media, with many wanting to thank Pastor Tobi in person.
“Our greatest investment will always be people,” the influential Pastor comments.
Pastor Tobi’s philanthropic reach extends far beyond the UK. Through Wealth Nxtion, he has facilitated over ₦100,000,000 in Foreign Direct Investment to fund African start-ups, catalysing economic growth and job creation.

The grants are awarded are based on an individual’s ability to demonstrate how they would double their investment within six months and the since inception the results showcased throughout are truly inspiring and impactful.
